Guide to Selecting Your First Motorcycle

For the first time rider, choosing your first motorcycle is often a daunting decision. Now, more than ever, the motorcycle industry in North America is making high-quality, smaller displacement motorcycles that make excellent first motorcycles. But what bike is right for you? That really depends on a number of factors. In many jurisdictions, your choice in motorcycles may be limited by a graduated motorcycle licensing scheme. Often these systems limit your engine displacement or power-to-weight ratio rating. Be sure to check these details before purchasing a motorcycle.

Motorcycle Oil and Oil Filters

Have you ever read the book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance? In all honesty I have yet to finish it but the one thing I gathered from the book on motorcycle maintenance is this, if you only do one thing yourself and have a motorcycle mechanic do everything else, changing your oil regularly is the number one thing to do.
Oil acts as the lifeblood of any engine; from your motorcycle's to your lawnmower's and without it the engine will seize and die. However, in a motorcycle heavier grade oil is required because the same oil is not only being used to lubricate the engine but the transmission and the clutch as well. As well as acting as a lubricant ensuring metal parts do not touch, as in the case of the majority of motorcycles, oil is also used to cool down the engine. Furthermore motorcycle oil helps to quickly move minor debris, such as metal filings, carbon and dirt away from the engines parts and into the oil filter. Now you can see why I refer to oil as lifeblood and why it should be changed regularly.

Engine Maintenance And Why You Need To Do It

When you get your motorcycle, you don't think about the things that are not fun that you will have to do. You want to think about the motorcycle ride that you will do with your friends and where you will go. You should think about the motorcycle parts that you may need and why you should do maintenance on your bike from the beginning.
You have a lot to do to keep your bike running good and looking great, but the most important thing that you may have to do is your engine matinee. You may not think about this until something happens with your bike, but you should so that you can save money and not have so many headaches in the end.

How To Perform A Basic Car Maintenance

Now that you have owned the car that you have been eyeing for so long, how are you going to maintain it. Here are some tips:
Besides checking the engine oil, transmission and power steering fluids in your car, you also need to include the coolant, brake fluid, battery water and window washer water.
Coolant
Never open your radiator cap when the engine is hot or when the engine is still running. Wait until the radiator has completely cooled before removing the cap. You can check the level by either opening up the radiator cap or checking the level in the overflow reservoir.
The reservoir is a plastic container at the side of the radiator, with a hose connecting the two. It reserves as a receptacle for excess radiator coolant to flow into when it expands when hot. If the fluid level comes near the top of the radiator or in between the maximum and minimum line in the reservoir, its fine. If the level is low, you will need to top up with a 50/50 mixture of water and coolant.

High Performance Parts for Cars

Provided that enhancing the general performance of your vehicle is your sacred dream, then you have to enjoy the good news as every piece of your car may be enhanced to engage in the performance competition and most importantly - the offers across the market are plenty and you may locate just any part you wish on the internet within a few clicks through the search engine. The parts to enhance may be everything you can think of: rim bands, rim-brakes, rim-faces, batteries, hydrostatic transmission, light transmission, etc.
Each particular part will be responsible for different characteristics of your performance such as speed or efficiency of engine or mileage. However you may wish to make a more broad like enhancement that will result in the overall 'wellness'. As mentioned above, market propositions for the different parts are plenty and you should exercise your best prudence when searching for the parts online. Keep in mind that the market for the after market parts is growing rapidly which means that for some parts the full scale testing is far from being finished and their level of affecting your vehicle may be unpredictable. One more thing to keep in mind is that the eventual performance increase is the function of the installation quality. So consider selecting the proper workshop or the new part installation. Keep in mind that whatever the aspect you are improving, whether it is mileage or smoothness, weighting them against the main criteria object - your safety, should be of the primary importance.

Refining the Performance of Your Car Through ECU Tuning

My husband and I would sometimes argue about the regular check up needed for our car to avoid hassles and delays while we are on the road. We have had some debates but we were not in the fighting mode, we were just on a suggesting topics where we can battle about to meet with our expectations and opinions halfway. Checking the car before we leave the house in a regular basis would help us avoid accidents and protect others from harm. People normally just do it if they are about to leave leaving unfixed the ECU Tuning which should be the primary focus of any car owner.
We must be grateful because we all have the available services and people who are trained professionally to assist you with your ECU Remapping also known as tuning. This is needed for overall performance of the car engine especially if you are driving regularly, since doing this makes your engine better than you bought it. This is how you take care of the car engine, the same manner that you take care of your body to avoid any major illnesses. The same way works with your car, if it is not properly maintained and checked, you will reap what you sow, and that is damage to the engine.
